  • The Ofrenda Ring was inspired by the discovery of Ofrenda 167 at the Templo Mayor in Mexico City, where the Coyolxauhqui monolith and her gold earrings were found. Her earrings, in the form of circle, trapezoid and ray motifs, are symbolic of the fire serpent and often appear in other Mesoamerican iconography. When the ofrenda was uncovered, a ray of sunlight revealed several gold ornaments belonging to the lunar goddess, the earrings, accompanied by the bells worn on her cheeks, were visible. This ring takes the circle, trapezoid and ray shapes as a setting for a round deep red garnet and a trillion cut peridot.
