The Grand Relato Ring is inspired by the 18th-century shipwreck treasure discovered off the coast of Yucatán, México. The ship, traveling from México to Spain, sank on a reef near the shore, leaving behind over three hundred pieces believed to have been crafted in Oaxaca, gold figures, rings, necklaces, buckles, chains, rosaries, reliquaries, and religious symbols among them. One of the recovered pieces, a gold ring composed of connected circles with detailed engravings, inspired the design of The Grand Relato Ring, reimagined here with round sapphires framing a marquise cut pale pink sapphire or deep green tourmaline.
