The Cuentas Ring draws inspiration from the importance of beads in Mesoamerica, where they were valued not only as symbols of wealth but also as sacred objects connecting the wearer to ancestors, the gods, and ceremonial life. Beads were used in burial ceremonies and also served as a form of currency. Each bead is hand cut specially for this piece, using jadeite from Chiapas and quartz from Guerrero, Mexico. Each ring features a single, unique bead, celebrating the artistry and care involved in shaping every one.
