A city created and founded by a famous circus owner in Mexico City. During the first decade of the 20th century, Colonia Roma was a place of opulence, sumptuous mansions and palaces; some of the great houses of this time were influenced by the Art Nouveau Style. Walter Orrin, founder of "El Circo Orrin" and the brothers Lamm, engineers and architects designed and created La Colonia Roma. It is said that the street names of la colonia are meant to be an homage to the cities where the Orrin circus had traveled to.
