Alajuela is a small city in Taxco, Mx. and the name of one of its silver mines. Taxco its best known for its silver production and silversmiths, although mining production its not longer what drives this city as it did in its early days.
William Spartling, a NY architect, revitalized the silver industry in Taxco in the early 30's and as many more silversmiths such as Antonio Pineda, represent what Taxco is today, along with its picturesque hill houses, narrow streets, almost absent sidewalks and lined streets with silvercraft stores and workshops.
